Sadly Golden Hillbillies couldn't get a team to face us so gladly accepted a 0-3 walkover. Looking at their other results we could have hoped to score some goals but you never know, so another win!

Void : Sunday 13 Oct 2013 Real Wood FC 5 - 2 Deportivo Cha Cha Cha
Unfortunately Deportivo Cha Cha Cha have disappeared from the league so those of us that managed to play them have had the result removed. This affects our points and our goal difference as we beat them 5 - 2. Shame but let's not lose any sleep over it. It happens often and we've never complained when we've had a pasting deleted from the record books.
Personally I'd like to keep the scorers, man-of-the-match etc but would like to hear comments.

Real Wood 3 - 2 Dad's Army
Difficult to pick the goal of the match as some excellent goals scored
by both sides.
As is becoming a habit we allowed
Dad's Army to take an early lead through James Greaves but Real Wood goals from
Batty, Felix and Jimmer pulled it back to 3-1 by half-time. Batty’s goal a
dream first touch and finish, Felix rounding the keeper before slotting home
and Jimmer capitalising on Dad’s army’s defensive weakness to give us some much
needed breathing space.
Much of the second half was spent giving away possession resulting in
Louis coming to the rescue. A penalty which he almost but not quite reached
made it 3-2 but we managed to hang on to win the closely fought contest. Man-of
the-match was agreed on Louis as Tom shot himself in the proverbial foot by
giving away a needless penalty. Champagne moments were debated as there was
much admiration for Batty’s goal and much hilarity at me soaring to head clear
a ball that barely left the ground!!
They say that good sides can not play well and still win and although
there were some excellent moments it was by no means our best performance. Having
said that 3 excellent goals and only conceding one goal to a striker called
Jimmy Greaves is brilliant.
It was great to have Swifty back telling us what to do and playing with
authority and terrific to have Bertie back so soon showing us what a talented
footballer he is and how to catch the ball when it’s going over your head!
Lovely sunny day, nearly a posh pitch at Frys (certainly better changing
facilities though not quite Sir Bernard Lovell) and lots of talk of onwards and
upwards.
